Craig Grabein has been involved in educational and private music instruction for 25 years and has been teaching with P1 and P1-13 since 2007. Although he spends his days working in the oil and gas industry, the majority of his free time is spent enhancing the percussive arts.
Mr. Grabein has served as a clinician/educator for to the following high school and junior high ensembles and drumlines: Klein High School, Klein Forrest High School, South Houston High School, Clear Creek High School, Beverly Hills Middle School, Schindewolf Intermediate School, Kleb Intermediate School, Clear Lake High School, Pasadena High School, and Goose Creek High School in South Carolina. Mr. Grabein has written the marching percussion scores for multiple high schools. In addition, he has composed elementary aged pieces for the Kreinhop Orffestra.
Mr. Grabein has performed with the Bayou City Blues Drum and Bugle Corps, Gulf Coast Sound Sr. Drum and Bugle Corps, the NFL Houston Texans “Bull Pen Pep Band”, Houston Area Fife and Drum Corps, Spring Woods UMC Praise Band, and the San Jacinto Jr. College Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Grabein has studied under Brian Callahan, Lamar Burkhalter, Ray Dillard, and James Metcalf.
Currently, Mr. Grabein is living in Tomball with his wife Kristen and three children Andrew, Aubrey, and Alex.
